Bioster uses in its plants the technology of beta rays with linear accelerator of electrons.
The electrons, generated by a cathode are accelerated in a microwave system
with a under vacuum cavity, and driven with magnets under the boxes to be irradiated,
The absence of natural radioactive sources identifies Bioster
irradiation plants as absolutely safe and with no environmental impact.
Moreover the continuous registration of the parameters of the accelerator
and of the current beam, creates highly precise and repeatable doses.
Bioster effects electron beam with an high quality and a technology,
which represents the state of the art in the sector, using very advanced and automatic system.
Bioster systems are completely computerized, working with bar code reader, box per box,
automatically controls and on time registration for the treatment parameters for all the managed processes.
Bioster offers to its customers three irradiation systems by electron beam
to supply sterilization services and generally, irradiation of the products,
with a modern technology compatible with the environment.
The treatment with ionizing radiation or beta rays, as it is commonly named,
is an efficacy sterilization method for the sterilization of medical disposables,
pharmaceutical, cosmetic and packaging products, and has also successful applications
in the cross linking process of the plastic components,
the decreasing of the bioburden and the preserving of foods.
The treatment by beta rays, has the incredible advantage to supply
the products with very precise and repeatable doses, moreover the treatment
is run in few minutes and the out coming products are immediately
ready for the customer delivery after the irradiation.
Bioster developed, in more than 15 years of experience in the managing
of its three irradiation plants, modern security, moving, traceability
and documentation systems; each box is singularly treated and it is possible
to register and verify precisely the adsorbed dose of each box.
The products, received in the non sterile area, are divided in different
irradiation batches; each irradiation batch has the right and studied treatment
parameters in order to reach the sterility in the products, as defined
and fixed during the physical and microbiological validation.
During the process each box is singularly labelled with bar code reader;
the label identifies the customer, the irradiation batch, dose and parameters, to assure a complete traceability for the products.
The bar code reader on the label, together with a series of laser sensors positioned
on the conveyor allow to verify, in each moment, the course of the box inside the bunker.
Such a way, according to the sterilization normative, the irradiation parameters are connected
to each single box, registered and stored for eventual future verification of the customer
and notified bodies.
According to the density of the product to be irradiated or the height
of the boxes, an automatic system, connected to the bar code readers of the boxes, turns over the same of 180° and conveys them again inside the bunker, to be reprocessed.
At the end of the process the pallets are rebuilt as in the initial configuration
and stored in the stocking area to be delivered to the customer. The production flow is acted and completed in few minutes and the products are immediately ready
to be manipulated without any particular caution.
